The ViviCam 8400 is a good underwater camera. That is the best feature it has. The pictures are clear if your subject is not moving. The shutter speed is slow and the recycle time for the next shot is between 1 and 2 seconds. It uses regular AA batteries and a SD card for memory storage. I had issues with putting it on its highest setting, it just took to long for the picture to save. So even though it is a 8mp camera I used it set on 5mp. The recycle time is acceptable at that setting. It floats which is nice and it is rated to go to depths of 30ft which is 20 feet deeper than most digital underwater cameras. Video records no sound but it does work well at the 30fps setting. No frills just a good picture and video camera for the pool or beach. Now I did have issues with it locking up while taking a video and my first camera did leak. Hopefully the second doesn’t.

Vivitar cameras have always been cheaply made, so keep that in mind.
